Quality Statement

POWER CONTROL AND APPLIANCES LTD. has built a reputation with its high-quality services. To ensure this quality will continue, we back our service with modern equipment, the finest materials, rigid quality control, and highly dedicated staff. PCA considers quality to be of prime importance in its services. Quality is obtained using skilled personnel, understanding and fulfilling our client's needs and expectations, and monitoring our service and operating procedures as outlined in the company quality assurance manual. In addition, these procedures and processes are measured frequently for their accuracy.

PCA is committed to the following:

  • Continued development and implementation of our quality management system

    It is achieving compliance by fulfilling the requirements of the quality management system through continuous review and improving its effectiveness so that all client requirements are met.

  • Availability of resources for all activities affecting the quality

    This includes full backing for the Quality, Environmental, and Safety Team, whose function is to develop, monitor, and provide assistance in implementing policies so as to communicate the importance of meeting customer, statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Establishment of quality objectives at all levels of the organization

    By improving the product and services and enhancing customer satisfaction.

  • Review by the senior management on the performance of the quality management system

    To ensure assessment of the progress of existing quality objectives and establish new ones as necessary.

Health Safety Policy

PCA policy is to achieve and maintain conditions of work that are healthy and safe so far as is reasonably practicable.  Accordingly, the company's activities are conducted with appropriate safeguards against exposing employees or other persons to risks to their health and safety. Furthermore, the company accepts to actively seek a reduction in the incidence of accidents, dangers, and hazards to health or safety and to comply with all relevant legislation and codes of practice.

PCA is committed to the following:

  • Ensure that hazards are identified, risks assessed, and safe work systems are designed and applied
  • Make the work environment safe; without health risks
  • Realistically combat such hazards with protective clothing, equipment, or devices as required
  • Arrange regular inspections of plant, machinery, workplace, and processes by competent authorities
  • Provide information, instruction, training, and supervision as necessary to achieve safe working practices
  • Bring this to the notice of those who supervise their special responsibility for safe working
  • Seek the active involvement of all employees in the company's efforts to promote health and safety at work

Environmental Policy

The Environmental Policy of the Company is to ensure, so far as it is reasonably practicable, that its operations will be carried out with a commitment to protecting and enhancing the environment. The same commitment shall be expected to be shown by Company contractors. This is a fundamental principle of the Company's business.

The Policy and all other Company environmental documentation and advice are based on the Company's view that environmental concern has equal stature to any other business objective. The Company aims to establish a high priority of its principles in its corporate strategy.

We aim to minimize the impact our activities, products, and services have on the environment and to achieve continual improvement in environmental performance by setting annual environmental objectives and targets and monitoring our performance. Also, establish higher standards of environmental performance where these are practicable and appropriate.

In accordance with its stated Policy, the Company has produced the following guidelines as a sound framework for the introduction of practices to implement it.

The key elements of these objectives are:

  • Ensure that hazards are identified, risks assessed, and safe work systems are designed and applied
  • Compliance with Government Legislation and Local Government Regulations
  • Swift response to accidents or incidents that have the potential to threaten the environment
  • Provision of advice on the safe handling of company products or their transportation and their final disposal to customers and contractors
  • Disposal of any waste products in ways that show concern for the environment
  • Encourage the development of products, processes, and equipment with concern for the environment's future
  • Communicate freely on environmental matters with government officials, employees, customers, and members of the public
  • Provision of training for all employees as appropriate to enable them to carry out their job functions in a manner that shows care for the environment
  • Carry out environmental audits when required
  • Promote environmental principles by sharing the experience with regulatory bodies, other companies, employees, and members of the public

Implementing this formal Environmental Policy, the Company will focus on action to conserve resources and energy, minimize emissions to air, water and land and increase recycling rates.

Local Content Policy

POWER CONTROL AND APPLIANCES LTD. has committed to fulfilling the bill of Nigerian content development, which is:

“The quantum of composite value added to or created in the Nigerian economy by a systematic development of capacity and capabilities through the deliberate utilization of Nigerian workforce, material resources, and services in the Nigerian Power Sector.”

Though our Company is an engineering service company, we will fulfill this bill by adopting policies:

  • Statutory policy on local content optimization
  • Employment of locals
  • Infrastructural/Community development
  • Use of local contractors and local suppliers
  • Horizontal collaboration and partnerships with local companies
  • Extensive training and technology transfer

PCA Ltd. utilizes maximum Nigerian professional/skilled/unskilled labour, equipment, material, and services on all projects except in stringent conditions whereby we might have to employ expatriates.

It is working and will continue to work for the utilization of Nigerian resources and services without compromising quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
